Guest
House provides housing and services for women coming out of jail or
prison and need support to transition successfully back into their
lives and communities. Our program empowers women by providing them the
tools necessary to achieve true self-sufficiency:
Residential Portion 3 - 6 months
- Case Management
- Mental Health/Substance Abuse Counseling
- Individual/Group Counseling and Support Groups
- Employment, Vocational, and Educational Assistance
- Housing Assistance
- Referrals to Community Resources
Aftercare Portion 6 - 9 months
- Case Management
- Expansion of Support System
- Workshops & Groups
- Counseling
- Socialization Activities
- Referrals to Community Resources
Community Outreach Program (Non-residential Program)
- Guest
House will provide overall case management, weekly meetings,
individualized services based on rehab/treatment plans, assistance in
facilitating appointments with other agencies, referrals, and
assistance with employment search.
Who Guest House Serves
Although
each resident of Guest House has her own story, many women share
similar experiences. A typical Guest House resident is:
- 30 years old
- Has been convicted of a non-violent crime such as forgery, probation violation, drug possession/distribution, larceny,
or prostitution
- Has suffered physical, emotional, and/or sexual abuse
- Has a history of substance abuse
- Has two or more children who are in the care of family, friends or foster care
- Does not have a high school diploma
- Does not have formal job skills
- Is affected by problems with self esteem
